ABOUT ME
My grandmother was a seamstress and from her home, in a small workshop located in a village in western Norway, she created beautiful garments and hats inspired by images. Her work was incredibly perfect and detailed, made with simple tools and a lot of love.
This is where my passion for textiles comes from, my creativity when I have a piece in my hands and transform it into something original and unique. I spent my teenage years sewing and recycling my own clothes, looking for ways to bring them to life and personalise them. My first experience with fabric dyeing was at art school, where I discovered batik, a technique I enjoyed for several years.
Over time, I made decisions that took me in a different direction, to different jobs, countries and cultures, so I didn't devote any time to continuing to explore this world that would later become my craft, my passion and my way of life.
In 2017, after attending a workshop on vegetable dyes on wool in my country, my desire to create was reawakened and I decided to take a leap of faith. I moved to the Mediterranean island of Menorca and devoted all my time to learning and exploring the amazing world of vegetable dyes and natural colours. I felt like I was coming home, as if what I had been waiting for had finally come back into my life.
My love for working with natural dyes and ecoprint comes from the deep connection I feel with nature and tradition every time I create. The process is magical: it allows me to transform simple, natural materials into vibrant colours and unique patterns, all while respecting the environment. I love discovering new shades from plants and experimenting with ecoprint techniques, which capture the beauty of leaves and flowers directly onto fabric. This fusion of creativity and sustainability not only inspires me, but also keeps me rooted in the rich legacy of textile art that began with my grandmother. It is an ongoing journey of learning and growth, both professionally and personally, for which I am eternally grateful.
